OREGON ENERGY CODES Non-Residential and Residential |
|
The state of Oregon's code requirements for energy conservation are contained in its statewide building codes. Building codes are adopted as statewide codes which are enforced at city, county or state level. The governing building jurisdiction varies throughout Oregon. If a city chooses to not have a local building department, the county can take that role. If a county chooses to not have a local building department, the state has building jurisdiction. |
|
Oregon has amended the ICBO Uniform Building Code and calls that amended document "Oregon Structural Specialty Code" (Structural Code). Oregon has amended the CABO One- and Two-Family Dwelling Code and calls that amended document "Oregon One- and Two-Family Dwelling Specialty Code" (Dwelling Code). |

Building Envelope |
Energy conservation code requirements for a Building's Envelope (wall, ceiling & floor insulation, fenestration, air infiltration, etc.): |
|
Group R Occupancies (Residential), 3 Stories and less in height - Code requirements for one- and two-family dwellings are contained in Appendix Chapter E of the Dwelling Code. Code requirements for all other buildings (apartments, hotel, motels, lodging houses, etc.) in this category are contained in Chapter 13 of the Structural Code.
Group R Occupancies (Residential), 4 Stories and more in height - Code requirements for all of these buildings are are non-residential standards contained in Chapter 13 of the Structural Code.
All Other Buildings Not In Above Categories Are Non-Residential Buildings - Code requirements for all of these buildings are contained in Chapter 13 of the Structural Code.
