Graphics and pictures are best viewed with your monitor's color setting at 24 bit or greater. Most graphics and pictures will look grainy at lower settings especially at 256 colors. Most people use 800 x 600 screen size for viewing web pages. A setting larger than 800 x 600 provides very small images that lose detail and create eyestrain. Some people prefer larger images afforded by 640 x 480 viewing. Using QuickRes, one of Powertoys from Microsoft (free) for Windows 95, you can quickly change screen size and color settings without rebooting your computer. Try making these adjustments to your screen and notice how our text and layout adjust to changes in screen size. |

Why Netscape instead of Microsoft Explorer you ask? Netscape and Explorer place graphics differently in "tables." It is easier to format complicated graphic lay-out for Netscape, such as this page. Case-in-point: If you are using Explorer 3.x to view this page, graphics may not line up as designed. This is one of the minute differences between these two programs. |
